Dry Skin vs Dehydrated Skin: Understanding the Difference
By Muthaiah M May 30, 2026 0 comments

Dry skin is a skin type where the skin produces less sebum. Dehydrated skin is a condition that can affect any skin type including oily skin. It occurs when the skin lacks water rather than oil, often from harsh products or environmental factors.

Oily skin that feels tight or flaky after washing is often dehydrated, not dry. The fix is adding water-binding ingredients like hyaluronic acid and glycerin. For true dry skin, ceramide-rich creams provide longer-lasting relief.
