Signs of pitta excess include skin redness and sensitivity, burning sensations in the gut or eyes, excessive sweating, intense irritability or anger, perfectionism becoming critical of others, and inflammatory conditions.
Cooling measures include avoiding hot, spicy, sour, and fermented foods. Favour cucumber, coconut, coriander, fennel, and mint. Avoid alcohol, reduce caffeine, and eat meals at regular intervals. Physical activity in the cooler early morning and spending time near water reduces pitta.
